The Photo Enhancement SIG meeting featured Pete Henshaw discussing Lumenzia to a standing room only crowd. Thanks Pete!
For those of you who haven't heard of Lumenzia it is a Photoshop plugin designed specifically to make creating luminosity masks as well as using them easier. Photoshop offers several ways to create masks including luminosity masks which are powerful but not easy to create using Photoshop.
Pete started his presentation with some background information on using masks and some of the difficulties involved when attempting to create them in Photoshop. He showed how Photoshop handles creating luminosity masks and then he went on to illustrate how Lumenzia makes creating and using luminosity masks so much easier.
The heart of Pete's presentation was showing how he used Lumenzia to enhance three photos he had taken. With each photo he explained what he was attempting to accomplish and how he accomplished it using Lumenzia to selectively mask different parts of each photo, make adjustments to that part of the photo and thus improve the overall look of the photo. It was a clear demonstration of the ease with which Lumenzia can be used to create luminosity masks and the power of the luminosity masks created using Lumenzia. At the end of his presentation he was treated to a well deserved round of applause.During the course of the presentation it became apparent that besides Pete we already have a couple of other Lumenzia experts in our club. It was also equally apparent that we had some Lumenzia users who were there to learn how to better use this powerful tool.
After Pete's presentation a drawing was held for a free copy of Lumenzia generously donated by Greg Benz the creator of Lumenzia. Bob Springer was the lucky winner. Congratulations Bob.
