Mark your Calendar for the October 24th Print SIG Meeting
How to best utilize third-party Fine Art Printing and Framing Services
will be presented by local firms Sacramento Giclee and Skyline 1.
If you want professional grade giclee printing and framing services for your artwork and photographs, then this is one Print SIG you should not miss. The Print SIG meeting will take place in the Orchard Creek Multi-purpose room from 8:30AM to 10:30AM on Wednesday, October 24th
Sacramento Giclee is the Number One giclee printing source in the Sacramento area. The firm provides high resolution scanning and printing services for fine artists and photographers who want high quality reproductions/prints of their work. Skyline 1 provides professional and museum level matting and framing services.
According to Sacramento Glicee’s Josh King, “The giclee printing process provides for better color accuracy and longevity than lithography, and rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes. Prints can be found in museums and art galleries world-wide. A few of which include the Metropolitan in New York, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Chelsea Galleries.
“Giclee printing provides an elevation in printmaking technology by creating prints from high resolution digital scans and printing them with archival quality inks onto various types of media including canvas, fine art, and photo papers.
“Our giclee prints are created on Epson’s 9800 and 9900 series printers. These printers use the most technologically advanced ink sets in the market today. Epson’s UltraChrome K3 and HDR inksets.”

Load Up Your Camera -- We're Going to Focus on the Exposure Triangle
The October Learning SIG will build upon the September SIG by completing the "exposure triangle" with the addition od definition, demonstrations and live view examples of ISO. Bring your cameras! The second half of the SIG will be a hands-on workshop, testing how each of the elements of shutter speed, aperture and ISO affect the others. Experienced members will be there to assist and answer questions.
Volunteers Needed for Video Production
The Association’s Video Services Group (“VSG”), a sub-group within the Communications and Community Relations Committee, is seeking volunteers to assist with producing a variety of different types of video pieces. These videos are almost all intended for posting to our Association’s YouTube channel to be viewed by residents.
VSG is particularly interested in hearing from residents who have experience in all aspects of video creation. We want to hear from YOU if you would like to become involved with the planning, directing, camera operating, video editing, audio engineering, and/or assisting more experienced members of the group. If any of the foregoing piques your interest, please contact Peter Beckett via e-mail at videography@sclhca.com.

SCLH Photography Club Facebook Page
This is a place for SCLH Photography Members to have a conversation about photography, cameras, and places to shoot photography in the area. You can ask a specific "how to" or "where can I find..." or "how can I improve this shot?" or "thinking of going to.....does anyone want to come too?" You can post great photography-related websites that others might like. Use your creativity. The SCLH Photography Facebook page is restricted to the Club membership only.
There are a few rules.
-
No politics, none, nada.
-
The only things you can sell on this page are photography equipment that is usually sold within the club like reselling cameras, printers, etc. Nothing else. Nothing.
-
Constructive criticism only when critiquing. (Don't tell us that it was a stupid, boring shot, We'll figure it out anyway.)
-
If you are selling your photography, protect your copyright. You may not want that one up on the Internet on Facebook. Post a link to your photography website instead.
