Salvation Mountain, on Beal Road in Niland, California is a 600-mile drive from Lincoln Hills, but there are other interesting things to see on the way, or while you’re in the area. Some examples are Joshua Tree National Park, Anza Borrego Desert State Park, and Salton Sea birds. With a slight detour, the Mojave Desert can be visited, and its wildflowers are supposed to be very good in the spring of 2017.
